Accessibility Statement
TinyTap Ltd is committed to making this service usable by everyone, including people with disabilities, in line with the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Act, 1998, the Service Accessibility Regulations, 2013, and Israeli Standard IS 5568, which is anchored to WCAG 2.0 level AA.
Level of conformance
This service partially conforms to IS 5568 at level AA. Most of the service, including the lesson player, meets the standard; the areas listed under “Known limitations” do not yet.
What has been done
- The whole interface can be operated with a keyboard alone, without traps.
- The lesson player and its activities are keyboard operable: quizzes, word bank, unscramble, true/false, open text, camera and photo quiz can all be completed without a pointer. The exceptions are named under “Known limitations”.
- Dialogs, drawers and blocking messages are real dialogs: they take focus, keep it while they are open, can be dismissed with Escape where dismissing is allowed, and return focus when they close.
- What happens in a lesson is announced, not only shown: badges earned, hints and blocking messages are passed to screen readers through a live region. The tutor's own words are not, on purpose — the tutor speaks aloud, and a screen reader reading the same sentence over the top makes neither audible.
- A skip link leads directly to the main content of every page.
- Pages carry landmark regions, a single main heading, and a heading hierarchy without gaps.
- Tables, lists and tabs use real semantics rather than styled containers.
- Every form control has a label, and errors are announced, not only coloured.
- Images that carry meaning have alternative text; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- A visible focus indicator is guaranteed everywhere.
- Text is sized in relative units and follows the browser's own font-size setting; the page scales to 200% without loss of content.
- Zoom is never blocked. Pinch-zoom works on mobile, including inside the lesson player, and text can be selected on any screen.
- Animation and auto-playing video respect the operating system's reduce-motion setting, and the video can be paused.
- The tutor's speech can be read as text at any time: the captions toggle in the lesson header opens a transcript panel that a screen reader can navigate to and read on demand.
- The interface works in Hebrew and Arabic right-to-left as well as left-to-right.
- Video is played through a player that displays the video's own caption track, and the sound effects in a lesson carry no information that is not also shown on the screen.
Known limitations
We are required to state what is not accessible, and we would rather you heard it from us than discovered it:
- Marking text in the “highlight the text” activity. This activity still needs a pointer: the passage is marked by dragging across it. The colour-marker buttons themselves work with a keyboard, but the marking does not yet.
- Selecting part of a picture in the “find in the picture” activity. The answer is chosen by drawing a box around it on the picture, or by tapping it, which needs a mouse, a touch screen or a pen. The activity cannot yet be completed with a keyboard or a screen reader; a screen reader announces this when the activity opens.
- Pasting into the “Writing Box” activity. Text cannot be pasted into the writing box or dropped into it by dragging.
This is being worked on. If anything else in the service does not work for you, it is not intentional: contact us using the details below and we will fix it, and in the meantime provide the content another way.
Physical premises
This is a digital service. We do not operate premises that receive the public, so no physical accessibility arrangements apply.
